Poker Rakeback
How do you make the most of your rakeback deal? To begin with: is there anything you can do to maximize your rakeback earnings? Well, after you’ve already signed up and you’re preparing to take a seat, there’s not much you can do in that respect. Rakeback is a setup which doesn’t require any sort of involvement on your part. You just play your game as you normally do and rake back does its job quietly in the background.

Before you actually sign up for the deal though, there are a few things you can do to make sure that you squeeze the most out of your rakeback. First of all, assess your style of play objectively. Are you a TAG or a LAG? Make sure you don’t sell baloney to yourself because you’re only going to short-change yourself.

Once you know that, delve a little deeper into the rakeback deal for which you’re about to register. Most rakeback providers feature detailed reviews of the deals they’re offering you. Don’t click on the sign-up button of the apparently more generous deal without reading on. Check out the rake contribution method that the room uses first.

The dealt rake method allots every player who is dealt into the hand a share of the rake contribution. It doesn’t matter whether the player in question contributes any money to the pot or whether he folds without contributing a nickel. This setup is obviously favorable for the passive and tight players, because they’ll be earning rakeback on the poker rake generated by their opponents.

The contributed rake method only allots rake contribution to those who actively contribute to the pot one way or another. The resulting rake is still divided equally among the active participants in the hand though, which means that the guys who do most of the raising and calling will still end up generating rakeback money for those who call the BB and then fold.

The weighted-contributed rake calculation method is the one which is the fairest from the perspective of the loose-aggressive player. He won’t generate any rakeback value for the other - less aggressive – players, and he’ll get full credit for the fruits of his labor.

Tight passive players on the other hand, will probably like the setup more, where others do the work for their rakeback.

When you’re searching for a poker rakeback deal, make sure you pick one that best suits your playing style.
