Roulette is the most famous and popular game of odds all over the world. This game
was discovered in the 17th century by a man named Blaine Pascal and the meaning of
roulette in his mother-tongue being "small wheel".
This small wheel span all over Europe until the early years of 1800, when finally crossed the Atlantic over to the United States. On its long way to the States the game was upgraded. The only difference between european and american roulette is an additional “0”.
We are talking about a "00" slot, which appears on most of the american roulettes beside the one known by the europeans.
Roulette is an easy gambling game that everybody can understand and enjoy.
A typical wheel has 38 slots, numbered from 1 to 36, plus two slots for the "0" and "00".
On this "small wheel" we can find three different colours, the red colour for even
numbers, the black colour for odd numbers and the green colour for the "0" and "00".
After the player decided to place his/her bets, the dealer spins a white ball in
the opposite direction of the turning of the wheel. After the ball stops in one of the slots,
the dealer will announce the winning number and settle all the bets.
Usually there are eight players and a dealer who spins the wheel and also manages the
payouts and the wagers. The players buy, with cash chips, different colored chips.
The value of the cash chips is imprinted on them and there are many color variations.
After you quit or finished playing, you can take these chips to the cash desk and they will
give you real money in exchange.
To play roulette, the players have to place their bets on any number including ”0” and ”00” and when everybody had the chance to bet, the dealer starts to spin the wheel and launches the white ball as well. A few moments before the dealer drops the ball, he says 'no more bets' and that means that no one is allowed to change or place their bet.
The player that has the bet on or around the number that comes up, is the winner.
