US residents firmly excluded from online casinos
Subsequent to the seizure of domain names by the state of Kentucky, some online casinos have put a block on customers from the US.

Online casinos licensed by Microgaming are confused about the intentions of the online casino software provider following confusing information from managers at Microgaming-powered groups and restricted access to the Microgaming website.

A leading software provider to such online casinos as Vegas Partner Lounge, 32 Red, Carmen Media and Fortune Lounge, Microgaming is denying access to US residents at its website. It is not certain whether these sites will also become unavailable to customers from the US. Microgaming has made it clear that it cannot dictate strategy to its licensees most of which are individually owned businesses.

In view of the current uncertainty in the US online casino market, it might be best for Microgaming and its licensees to have a clear direction, in other words, closing down their websites in the US within a reasonable time frame. As the situation stands at the moment, players are getting anxious about their deposits and this is definitely not a way to encourage business.

A spokesman for Microgaming says that online casinos have been declining in the last year due to regulations and some of its clients have already decided not to accept new player registrations. Because of this Microgaming also do not believe they should keep their systems available as it presents a number of technical difficulties. He further said that Microgaming is confident that its licensees will conduct their business with fairness towards their players and affiliates and should there be any complaint, players could address it to the industry player protection body, Ecogra.
